THE BOWLING'S HOME

Just like good biscuits...built from scratch. Two story house. Did it all myself...well except for the wall raising and metal roof. Had a little family help on those two items. Not your typical home. Pay as you go...no loans...when I ran out of money for materials, work stopped. Entire house is fully paid for. No blueprints. Build completely from my head, with my own hands.,,the old fashion way...well almost...I used no nails! Entire house put together with screws. Foundation is cement filled concrete blocks anchored in a 30 inch wide 20 inch deep rebar reinforced footing. All floor joists are 2x12 treated pine. First floor sub-floor-1 is 3/4 inch treated plywood.  First floor sub-floor-2 is 1/2 inch finished plywood. Second floor sub-floor-1 is 1/2 inch unfinished plywood. Second floor sub-floor-2 is 1/2 inch finished plywood. Exterior sub-walls are 1/2 inch treated plywood. Every joint in the framing and rafters is secured with heavy duty hurricane straps. Outside wall frames are secured to floor/foundation with 1/2 inch bolts and u-channel achored in concrete. House is built to withstand "bad weather". It was built with love! It was built with sweat! It was built with tears! It was built with good old fashion traditional American hard work! And...Mr. Obama...I BUILT THIS...NOT THE DAMN GOVERNMENT!
